EventSentry monitors fixed drives and mount points and can generates alerts based on any of the following criteria:
Disk drives are recognized even when they are added dynamically, and the limits are configured easily using system health packages. Different limits for different drives and/or monitored computers are possible.
To help with capacity planning, EventSentry will attempt to predict when a disk drive will be full. The estimate is shown in the disk space status page as the month and year when the available disk space is predicted to be empty. The disk space prediction feature works best with linear patterns (e.g. file servers) and requires that the agent has historical data to analyze.
To help with disk space cleanup, EventSentry can discover the 250 largest files on a volume.
Directory monitoring allows you to monitor the directory size of one or more directories:
The directory monitoring feature lets you configure whether to include sub directories and how often the size of directories is calculated. The directory size report also shows the physical and logical size of the monitored directories.
Disk monitoring also logs disk space information to the EventSentry database and enables you to view current and historical disk space information through the web reports. The following disk space information is available through the web reports:
