Windows Telemetry Should Be Disabled
Windows Telemetry and Data Collection was introduced in Windows 2016 Server. This script will work on Windows 2016 Server, Windows 2019 Server, and Windows 10. All other OS will exit as Not Applicable
This script will check for several privacy points for Windows Telemetry.
1- Telemetry Configuration Set to Security
2- Service Diagnostics Tracking Service (Named after W10 1511 "Connected User Experiences and Telemetry Service") Should be stopped.
1- Via GPO:
Computer Configuration
|_ Administrative Templates
|_ Windows Components
|_ Data Collection and Preview Builds
|_ Set "Allow Telemetry" to "Enabled" with "0 - Security [Enterprise Only]" selected in "Options:".
Via Registry: At HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DataCollection
Create/Edit Key "AllowTelemetry" Set to 0
2- Stop and Disable Service "Connected User Experiences and Telemetry"
