If you have configured Print Tracking to write to the database then you can run queries to search for print job information on the Print Tracking page. The print tracking feature also allows you to associate cost with a print queue, and thus create invoices for printing.
The Print Tracking page offers the following information:
Computer, Domain, Username, Document, Print Queue By selecting one or more of the above fields, only print jobs matching your selection will be displayed. If you select the exclamation mark next to your selection, then only print jobs not matching your selection will be displayed.
From, To You can restrict your search to a particular time and/or date range. You can click the calendar icon to bring up a calendar. When you set a date range using the From and/or To fields, any limit setting (e.g. "last week") will be ignored.
Order By Use this field to sort your output. By default, output is sorted descending by Date and Time.
Size, Pages Only show print jobs with the specified size and/or page count.
Group By You can group output by selecting one or more (hold the CTRL key while selecting multiple) fields from the "Group By" box. The "Group By" feature is automatically configured for you when you check the "View as invoice" checkbox.
Show Chart Selecting the "Show Chart" option will display a graphical chart in addition to the text report. A pie chart is shown if you group by one field, a stacked column chart is displayed when you group by two fields. Grouping by more than two fields will not show a chart.
View as Invoice You can view print job information as invoices by checking the View as invoice checkbox before you submit your search. An invoice will look similar to the screenshot shown below:
Clicking the View Detailed Invoice link will show you the same invoice with additional information, showing how many pages where printed on which computer/print queue:
Manage Cost Mapping By default, a print queue is assigned a cost of 5c ($0.05) per page, but you can change this default setting with the Profile Editor. Using the cost mapping feature, you can assign custom print costs to other print queues. Clicking on the Manage Cost Mapping link will bring you to the following page which allows you to easily customize cost mappings:
To add a cost mapping, simply select a print server, print queue, set page price and click the Add button. The new cost mapping should appear in the list below. To delete the cost mapping again (and thus use the default mapping), click the DELETE link of the cost association.
