The Health Matrix is a new and unique way to display the health of a large network, while at the same time using as little screen space as possible.
Health matrix using medium square size, displaying 68 computers while only requiring approximately 756 x 188 pixels
68 computers, here only requiring approximately 397 x 96 pixels
9 computers, using the largest rectangle shape which includes the host names
Points & Colors The overall health status of a monitored host is indicated by the color of its square / rectangle / circle (depending on your configuration). The health of a host is calculated using a point system. Any monitored item (e.g. service, disk space, performance counter) that is not within a valid range will accumulate a certain number of points (configurable). Only hosts with no (0) points will have a green status, whereas hosts with more than 1 point, but fewer than 3 (configurable) points will have an orange status. Hosts with more than 3 (configurable) points, will have a red status.
The number of points that are accumulated by a feature are configurable on a global (profile) basis, making it possible to weigh certain components more than others. To change the points generated by a section, simply click the "Edit" link of a category and adjust the points.
The Error Threshold can be adjusted by changing the corresponding value in the lower left corner and clicking "Update".
Global Settings / Groups The Health Matrix page is refreshed every 5 minutes by default, and this interval can be adjusted by changing the "Refresh page every" value in the lower left corner of the page. The last refresh time is also shown below the refresh interval. Click the "Update" button whenever you make changes to the refresh interval or the error threshold.
By default, any computer that records either disk space or performance information, as well as hosts that are monitored by the heartbeat agent, are included in the health matrix. You can further narrow down the computers that are displayed by selecting one or more groups (all groups are displayed by default). A group is selected with a mouse click, multiple groups can be selected by holding the CTRL button while clicking group names.
