Performance Charts

Top  Previous  Next

The Performance Charts page gives you the ability to view performance data as graphical charts to analyze past and predict future trends. The Performance Charts page retrieves the same data that the Performance Search pages does, but shows the data in graphical form.

You can view performance charts in two ways:

View one or more performance counters of a selected computer
View one performance counter for multiple computers

Computer, Instance

By selecting one or more of the above fields, only performance data matching your selection will be displayed.

Counter

Select one or more counters to be displayed. It is recommended that you collect performance data in similar intervals when displaying data of different counters side-by-side.

Detail Level

Average Points

Since the database usually contains much more data than can be displayed, the charts only display every Xth record from the database. For example, if the search returns 10.000 records, but you only want to display 100 points, then the charts will display only every 100th record.

First X Points

This option only displays the first X records from your search, ignoring all later ones.

Last X Points

This option only displays the last X records from your search, which is useful if need to get recent and accurate data.

Max # of Points

How many points to show in the chart. If your search returns less data (points) than you selected, then the charts will show as much data as possible.

From, To

You can restrict your search to a particular time and/or date range. You can click the calendar icon to bring up a calendar. When you set a date range using the From and/or To fields, any limit setting (e.g. "last week") will be ignored.
