You can inventory installed software and basic hardware information with EventSentry using the Software Monitoring feature in combination with an ODBC notification. With the Software Monitoring pages you can retrieve the following information:
| • | Find out which software is installed on which computer, perfect for software licensing |
| • | Identify the version of installed software across multiple computers |
| • | Find out when a particular software was installed or uninstalled |
| • | Identify old versions of installed software |
| • | Group installed software by software publishers |
| • | Find out which service pack is installed on one or more hosts |
| • | Find out basic hardware information such as installed memory, processor type etc. |

A Health Package that includes a database-enabled Software Monitoring object needs to be assigned to one or more computers for software and hardware information to be written to the database.
