MS SQL Express 2008 R2 Setup Assistant

The MS SQL Express 2008 R2 Setup Assistant automatically downloads, configures and installs SQL Server Express 2008 R2 on the local computer, for use with EventSentry. The assistant can either download the required setup file automatically from the Internet, or utilize a previously downloaded installer. The assistant will create a separate instance of SQL Server as to not interfere with any potentially existing SQL Server installations.

If you don't already have a database server setup that is suitable for EventSentry, then it is recommended that you run and download the assistant before you run the EventSentry setup. This ensures that the setup will create all necessary tables to be used. If you run the assistant after the setup has completed, do one of the following:

•	Modify the existing EventSentry installation, and add the MS SQL Server component

•	Run the Database Setup Wizard to create all required tables

If the MS SQL setup is downloaded with the assistant, the setup file is stored in the %TEMP% directory. If you need to conserve space, then you can delete the setup file after the installation is complete.

If the setup assistant does not start because of missing prerequisites, then please download & install the missing Windows components. MS SQL Server 2008 R2 requires the same (and more) components as the setup assistant, and running the SQL Server setup manually will require the same components.
